Gentler
The snow capped mountains
make me feel at home
I know I said they don’t but
I’ve fallen like a red leaf
off of a branch
through the blue and into
the embrace of gentler plans
At one point in time
I knew that here is where I belong,
waking up next to you my dear and singing songs
I just forgot that feeling until now,
the only truth I have ever found
Can’t you see our life moving forward
forming laugh lines
and enjoying mornings
bathing in a calm lake
somewhere off the grid
Breathing fresh air and sunshine
like little kids
Wouldn’t you like to live
this life together?
I mean, I could make it alone
but two might be better
In a blink of an eye
we’ll both have to greet our last days
and I really think that it’d be nice
To spend them in the same place
